2024 All-Hands Kickoff – Chicago, IL
Starboard Software is hosting the annual North America All-Hands Kickoff at the Congress Plaza Hotel and Convention Center in Chicago, IL, on March 5 – 7, 2024.
As a Starboard Software employee in North America, you are cordially invited and encouraged to attend. Starboard reimburses all employee travel expenses for this event. You can register for the event by booking your airfare and hotel reservations through Google Travel.
Review the Starboard Travel Prerequisites before making your travel arrangements.
The registration deadline to attend the Kickoff is February 5, 2024.
Starboard Travel Prerequisites
Before booking your airfare and hotel, review the Starboard Software credit card and airfare policies for employees. To be reimbursed for travel, you must register a personal credit card and get pre-approval to book domestic airfare over $500.
Credit Card Registration
If you haven’t already done so, register a personal credit card with Starboard’s Travel Concierge app [link].
Select Travel > Concierge > Register Card in the Starboard Employee Portal [link].

Important: Enter your Starboard Single Sign-on employee email address and password in the Confirm Email Address prompt. [screenshot]
Watch your Starboard Outlook mailbox for a confirmation email from Starboard Travel Concierge.
Book your airfare and hotel through Google Travel using the credit card you registered.
Airfare Pre-Approval
For this event, Starboard Software pre-approves any US domestic airfare of $500 or less. Flights of $700 or less require pre-approval.
If your selected flight is $700 or less, you can reserve your flight information by choosing Save for later in Google Travel.
Send an email to pre-approval and include the flight information and price. The travel concierge typically authorizes approval within two hours.
When you receive the approval email from Starboard Travel Concierge, return to Google Travel and finish booking your flight.
Booking Instructions
Once you’ve reviewed the Starboard Travel Prerequisites, follow the steps below to book your airfare and hotel reservation. Airfare is booked separately from the hotel.
Book Your Flight
Log into Google using your employee Starboard Single Sign-on ID.
Browse to Google Travel.
Select Flights to browse airfares.
Select Round trip, 1 passenger, and Economy or Business to compare fares. [screenshot]
Set your Departure date as March 3 or 4 and your Return date as March 8 or 9.
March 4 and 8 count as travel days, but you may search March 3 and 9 for better fares.
Click Search to browse the available flights and fares.
If the fare you want to select is $700 or less, select Save for later to reserve your selection. Then, follow the instructions for Starboard airfare pre-approval.
When you select a flight, Google opens a new browser window on the airline’s website.
Book your flight on the airline’s website with your designated Starboard credit card.
Note: Collect receipts for taxi fares to and from the airport and hotel. These are expense items you can include for reimbursement.
Book Your Hotel Reservation to Register as a Kickoff Attendee
To register as an attendee at the kickoff, book your hotel reservation through Google Travel. The registration deadline is February 5, 2024.
Browse to the main Google Travel website and select Hotels.
Search for Congress Plaza Hotel Chicago and enter your arrival and departure dates [screenshot]
Book your stay on the Congress Plaza Hotel website with your designated Starboard credit card. Note: Booking the hotel with your Starboard SSO ID automatically registers you for the event.
