Introduction

I’ve focused my technical writing career on being a customer advocate. I aim to create helpful content that enables customers’ success rather than frustrating them.

My approach is one of empathy with the customer experience and the various pitfalls they might encounter while performing a task. I believe technical writers must anticipate these pitfalls by using the product themselves as much as possible. I also think that a friendly tone is crucial while not overloading the content with narrative.

Customers have a task in mind they want to accomplish. Brief, task-oriented instructions that anticipate and answer their questions are essential for them to have a successful experience with a product.
